Born and raised in South Africa, Ilona brings a professional radio drama background to BBC-5’s new American import, serial radio drama MILFORD-HAVEN.

As Emily Wilkins, newly assigned investigative reporter for The Milford-Haven News, Ms. Stone zealously sets out to prove her scrutinizing abilities, angling every bit of information as if there were something clandestine behind it. Her predilection for discovering the story behind the story causes her to be contacted by the an anonymous and somewhat sinister source who gives her fascinating– but dangerous– leads.

While television remained unseen in South Africa until 1976, Ilona had the singular opportunity to work extensively in the medium she loves most: radio. Her starring roles include Anne Frank in “The Diary of Anne Frank,” Laurel in “The Chalk Garden,” and Phyllis in “The Railway Children.” During this period she also did considerable work in film dubbing and commercials.

Now a proud citizen of the United States where she has lived for ten years, she is currently hosting two classical music shows, “Going Baroque” and “Sunday Morning Classics,” at prominent National Public Radio Station KCBX in San Luis Obispo, California. Not limiting her talents to voice work, she will soon be performing as a dancer with the San Luis Early Music Consort. Ilona is also a member of a new troop forming a Baroque dance company focusing on 17th and 18th century music and displaying magnificent costumes reminiscent of Louis the XIV’s era. Since living in the States, Ilona has also done various radio and television voice-over commercials. Extremely active members of their community, Ilona and her husband Barry have two small daughters. Mr. Stone’s company was one of the first sponsors of Milford-Haven in local broadcast.
