Writer/ Director/ Actor Carl Esser performs and contributes scenes to BBC-5’s highly successful American import, serial radio drama MILFORD-HAVEN.

We know him first as “Rune Sierra” in the soap, a man consumed with his rock-concert promotion business, consorting with rock stars, and given to all their bad habits, but “Rune” begins to outgrow all this, responding to his own latent dream of success in the theatre.

Taking over the “Playhouse” in Milford-Haven, “Rune” tackles the job of mounting his own play,– and here drama mirrors life, as the play-within-a-play was penned by Carl. His award winning play “L.A. River Anthology” appears in fits and starts as the amateurish but willing would-be actors of Milford-Haven do their best to strut their thespian best.

Carl is no stranger to radio drama having begun his career as a child actor in such dramas as “This is Your World.” He has written and produced an award winning radio series which was broadcast in Hawaii, as well as a radio show for the U.S. Pacific Fleet, “Across the Blue Pacific.”

Carl’s reservoir of creativity spans many areas. Aside from acting and writing Carl has produced and directed numerous plays, television features and specials, as well as voicing hundreds of commercials, animated series, and dubbing foreign films. As a singer-dancer he appeared in many musicals including “Half a Sixpence” in which he performed on Broadway for a year. But perhaps his most memorable role is that of “Seabee Tom O’Brien” in the movie “South Pacific” where he appeared in the first three musical numbers and soloed in “Nothing Like a Dame.”

The varied and multi-faceted background Carl brings to MILFORD-HAVEN is revealed in several other roles in the show. We invite our audience to identify these roles by tuning in to…MILFORD-HAVEN.
